Dear players, with the release date of EA Sports FC 27 fast approaching, the player roster is about to undergo a major reshuffle. Which familiar stars will be leaving the pitch? Which familiar faces will make a surprise return? And which legendary new talents will join the game? Before planning which players to add to your roster by FC coins store, let’s take a look at these variables with IGGM.com.

Confirmed Absences

Retirement-Induced Exclusions

First, as fans should know, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, two excellent players, have officially retired and will not appear in FC 27. They are not currently included in the official icon list.

Niklas Süle – an outstanding German center-back – will also be leaving the game because of retirement.

League-Induced Exclusions

Additionally, some players will be unable to play because their leagues are not licensed for EA FC 27. For example, Jesse Lingard will not appear in the new game because his league is not licensed for the game.

Presnel Kimpembe’s Qatar league is also absent from the new game, and Dusan Vlahovic will likely be excluded due to licensing issues with the league.

Furthermore, Asisat Oshoala, known for her explosive power and precise finishing, will also be unavailable due to licensing issues with the Saudi Arabian Women’s League.

These players’ absence from the new game solely because of league issues is regrettable, as it may mean losing some valuable roster-boosting assets.

Players Absent Because of Club Issues

The following players are also absent from FUT 27 because of licensing problems.

For example, Neymar, who recently completed his final professional World Cup, will not be included because not all clubs in his Brazilian league have licensed his services.

Similar situations exist for Leon Goretzka, David Alaba, Jadon Sancho, Raphaël Guerreiro, and Adama Traore, all excluded due to licensing issues with their respective clubs.

IGGM.com finds it particularly regrettable that goalkeeper Vozinha, who became well-known to fans during this year’s World Cup, was not included in the game because his clubs did not qualify for the Copa Sudamericana and Copa Libertadores tournaments, which is one of the criteria for inclusion in FC 27.

Confirmed Returning Players

Returning Because of Transfers to Licensed Leagues

While some players missed FIFA 27 because of league licensing issues, others will return for the same reason.

Nabil Fekir previously played in a league that was not licensed for the game, but he has now transferred to the Saudi Arabian league, which is licensed. Therefore, IGGM.com can confirm that Nabil Fekir will return to FC 27.

Similarly, Keylor Navas has signed with Pumas and, being within the licensed league, will return to the new game.

Returning Because of Club Licensing

Allan Marques Loureiro, formerly of Napoli and now playing for Botafogo, will reappear in the game because of the club’s licensing status.

In addition, Sandro Ramírez, Ángel Correa, Dušan Tadić, Alejandro Gómez, Sergio Reguilón, Juan Bernat, and Mykhaylo Mudryk will also return to FC 27 because of updates to their respective club’s licensing status.

Returning as an NPC

IGGM.com also notes that Alex Hunter will return, but in a slightly different way – he’ll only be available in The Grounds mode and won’t join Ultimate Team.

Alex Hunter will be mentoring new players instead of playing himself, which might be more interesting than playing as a player!

New Players

Hero Upgraded to Icon

In FUT 27, two Hero players from 26 will be upgraded to Icons: Yaya Touré and Lúcio.

Both players will appear as Icon cards in the new game, and obtaining them is simple: just get Ultimate Edition or Ultimate Plus Edition to receive Icon pack.

New Men’s Football Icon

Fernando Torres will officially become a new Icon in EA FC 27, with his OVR increasing from 87 to 88 – the new minimum OVR for all base Icon cards.

Ruud Gullit’s Icon card has a slightly higher OVR than Fernando Torres 91 OVR, with the base version expected to have 90 OVR on IGGM.com.

Other new male football icons in FC 27 include Raphaël Varane, Sergio Aguero, Pepe, and German striker Rummenige, as well as Bastian Schweinsteiger, also a German player.

New Female Football Icons

Six new female football icons will be added:

  • Formiga

  • Yuki Nagasato

  • Ellen White

  • Riise

  • Sinclair

  • Heath

The vast majority of these female players are forwards. Combined with Sergio Aguero and Rummenigge from the male team, we can see that attacking players make up a significant portion of the new icons in FC 27.
